Kate Cigrand, JD
Assistant Director of Research
Kate is UAS’s Assistant Director of Research. In this role, Kate researches and advises on compliance issues impacting multiemployer plans. She also drafts a variety of client plan documents, including plan restatements, SPDs, plan amendments, and SMMs.
Before joining UAS, Kate held various private and public sector positions with a focus on ERISA compliance matters. She was an investigator with the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration. In that role, Kate audited ERISA service providers, retirement, and health & welfare plans. Prior to her work with EBSA, Kate was an attorney for a law firm. Her practice primarily involved advising multiemployer defined benefit, defined contribution, and health and welfare plans on technical compliance issues.
